That being said:

Idiots who don't realize there are maritime laws. You know the guy on the right who you slow down for so he can cross your bow at a safe distance and then it becomes a game of chicken with me thinking WTF dude just go so I finally give up and haul ass to get out of his way and he gives me the finger. Go home.

Kids on jet skis with parents who apparently want them dead, just shoot em or something. Here Johnny go where you want and drive right at boats and keep your head in your little ass the whole time because you are free to do everything wrong and dangerous. Mommy and I are going to sit here and get hammered.

Excessive bees, bugs, etc.

People asking if our great dane is a lab. Ok, so his ears aren't cropped, but have you ever seen a lab with legs longer than yours?

The super short season up here!!!!!!!!!!!!

I make sure anyone who comes with is informed about what they need to do while on the boat which is pretty much nothing and where the safety gear is etc. I wouldn't invite anyone who has the potential to make an awesome day not so awesome. Like others have said don't expect any gas $ but I won't be offended if you at least offer or offer to buy lunch--we are going with or without you.
I agree with the Bugs and super short season up here... I would also add the Zebra mussel infestation we have up here now. The dead shells pile up on the beach and cut your feet when you try to walk bare foot.

Water also makes it particular tough at times because its not a flat surface with nice intersections etc. I dont really care for more law enforncement, but at times it would be nice to cut down on idiots
Way back when, my old man bought his first boat, 18' sea ray open bow. First thing he did was go to Boat US and get some material on rules and safety for boating (pre-internet days). The DNR and USCG also publish tons of info by state, region, etc. I am not suggesting more laws, but people who "invest" in a boat should educate themselves. What does a green buoy mean? What about red? Why is that one striped like a referee? Do I have to give way to that sailboat? I can see a white light and a red one on a vessel at night what direction is he pointed/moving? etc, etc. The roads are dangerous enough, but you likely won't drown when you get out of a car, but on a boat when people panic and don't know what to do bad things happen. I mean who in their right mind would board up their family and friends with no idea of how to keep them and others safe?

Next it will be those stupid carp! Turn on the electric fence Illinois!!! Worst thing that could happen is it works! Things sure are different than they were only 20 years ago.

Should have added another peeve of mine, not having the boat yet! Can't wait to hear the big blocks roar again

Judging from the over 200 posts, it would appear most have a very low passenger count on their boats.

bigger boats like that do not have a cost guard placcard to denote anything on weight or persons. I know my 29 fountain which is probably similar to you, if you go by seats fits 5 in the cock pit, and in the cabin another 5-6.

The biggest thing would be life jackets. After that Im guessing as long as you dont have people riding on the bow, you could potentially get as many as you wanted, but I would bet at a certain point some LEO is going to be unhappy about being over crowded.

Thanks guys, I was thinking while underway some could ride in the cabin and some outside. Just wanting to plan for bringing my family and another family. My wife's parents would be fine in the cabin until o get anchored then everyone can wander around freely. So 11 or so would be no problem as long as there's life jackets....... and they're not riding thr bow lol

as long as nobody is on the bow youll be fine. And obviously having 15 people on a boat yelling and screaming with beer in their hands will attrach uneeded attention.
