Default Sandusky Bay Barge Party

The Sandusky Register has an article saying there will be no barge party this summer. The cost was cited as the biggest reason...

maybe it will be a good thing to take a few years off...was getting to the point that I didn't want to leave my boat alone with all the riff raff running around. it will help tame it down a bit and get it back to what it was years ago.

Agreed. I haven't gone in a couple years due to this fact. Maybe it would be cool to try and have an OSO sand bar get together? I know someone tried last year.

Right.... The type of people that was going was off the hook! Last year was beyond crazy. Not sure where so much raff rap people came from. But I must say the patrol on the lake is becoming ridiculous. I just bought a new boat and it was delivered last weekend. I ran to the bay sat. Just to be pulled over. I mean I saw only 10 boats on the lake total. Including what was at the bay. And I was pulled over for no numbers. Yes, no numbers as though anyone couldn't tell boat was brand spanking new. They stopped me and ask me if boat was new! I said yes and they said ok.

But, this was there "IN" to pull me over for drinking IMO. They are about to run me off this lake. What are the chances of pulling out of the bay in rough weather with no boats on the lake yet and patrol is rolling in???

Here's to yet another year of harassment. Maybe it's time for a "GOPRO CAMERA" for PROTECTION?

GEESH,

Went to the barge party yesterday 7/12/2014 (on another persons boat :-) )
Was a good time. Much more relaxed.
Saw the sheriff and the Coast guard (2 boats on the perimeter) when we pulled in.
Did not see any law enforcement when we left 30 minutes after the barge pulled out.
Small number of offshore boats away from the barge.
Was a good day!
Now if the small number of riff raff who throw their trash in the water would stay home.....
