It has always been shallow there. Used to water ski in that cove before they made it a no wake area.

I suggest if you can get out there now while the water is still clear you will get a better idea on where the water is good. Also, to all boaters, if you spot something please report it so that it can be marked with a buoy by the NJSTP. Clean up crews will then come to remove it. http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...71300196-4.jpg http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...71301262-4.jpg |
sbracing is correct. It has always been shallow where Sharkey took his pictures. Bay is OK like I said in my previous post. If your means allow you to this season get your boat ready and be out there for the 2013 season.

This was not here before Sandy. Please use extreme caution around Mantoloking. This home has since been removed.

That is North of Seaside Heights Bridge. Those pics are actually from Mantaloking Bridge where the the Ocean met the Bay. They are working daily there.

Barnegat bay boating, was out today ran south from Surf city to Holgate inlet. Channel seems ok, the second cut through (by Southwicks) is clear to avoid the no wake zone, did not try the first just south of the bridge. You have to be very carefull in Holgate as there are new sandbars and bigger ones, if you stay close to to LBI intill Great bay instead of cutting through the center you should be fine. Holgate inlet is about 50 ft deep, but once you get past LBI, in the ocean its only 8-10 not sure what is the best way out yet. Then ran up to Forked River to the Captians inn, no floating debris and for the most part its ok, but about Loveladies just before the turn to go over to the east side of the bay seems shallower. Forked river seems the same. Proceed with caution out there
