Default Family Performance Cuddy Advice

Ok, so I am looking to upgrade the boat. Need something that has space to sit like 8 people on deck that has a cuddy. Would love to hit 70+ but understanding I may need to do some modifications to power to get there. Need to keep it under 30’. After looking I like all the typical brands in the 27-28’ range (ZX, Fever, Fastech, performance…) but they all have the same seating configuration. Two pilot seats and a rear 4 person bench. Any models that have the benches that wrap toward the pilot seats? That would add the two seats I need but keep everything else I like. I do not want a cruiser. Any suggestions for makes and models? Also should note I do not like bowriders.

Thanks in advance

I cannot think of anything that has that kind of seating to carry 8 up top and run 70 without non-factory power. I'm thinking something like a 29 or 32 Envision or a quad bolster Baja 33 Outlaw, but that breaks your 30' limit. Our Cobalt 293 has the seating you need, but not the speed, 55 on a good day. Good Luck!

Check out a 280SC or 320SC Powerquest. We love our 280SC. It's the best of both worlds. It has a 9'2" beam so you have more cockpit space, a go fast hull design and seating space of a cruiser. We have twin 496HO engines in ours and I've topped out at 65mph. She can easily fit 8 adults comfortably. It's comparible to the Formula sport models so you could also look into the Formulas. Can't go wrong with either or. Good luck.

Here's a nice 280SC PQ for sale to give you an idea of the seating layout.

I had a Lavey Craft Nu Era 29 open bow with cuddy 2 yrs ago on Lake Tahoe (6250 ft elevation) during 4th of July. Had 12 people on boat and with single Paul Phaff 650 HP it would do 45-50mph. 2 people at sea level would do 75-80.

Very good quality built boat with superior hull design. Was a 2003.low hrs and paid $26K. Sold it for $37k.

Most fun I have had on a boat! It had sink, blender, short wave, fans, nice quality!

I Had a Regal 2950LSC cuddy , tons of room and real comfortable. 350 mag/bravo 3 would run low 50s but saw a few with big blocks run mid 60s. I know its not 70 but they are real decent boats.
