Bullet engines

my guess is each engine builder has one or a couple bad stories to tell... it can go right for years, and sometimes as stated, for no apparent reasons, everything falls apart... I guess if most comments are positives, you can go ahead!

I spoke to him he said its ok to tell the story. My buddy blew his 502 mpi in his 26 Donzi in mid July a few yrs back. Goes to Bullet engines. They rebuild a 502 they have at their shop and put his intake plenum and all his accesories on it. They re and re the engine and and give him a 6 mon guarantee. They have the boat for a month. He spends like 12K. He gets it back it is now early Sept. He puts 10 or so hours on it then packs it for the year. Gets it out in the spring puts maybe 15 or 20 hrs on it and it goes bang in a huge way. He brings it back for warr and they say six mos is over you are SOL! He says its been in storage for Nov, Dec,Jan, Feb, Mar and all of Apr. They say doesnt matter no warr. My buddy thought they could go halves or work something out. No Sir! basically eff you. He takes boat to another engine shop they tear it down and find in that MPI intake plenum assembly he used bathroom grade clear silicone in lieu of all gaskets. My buddies advice to anyone looking at Bullet Engines? "RUN!!!"
