When you click into the "search here..." box in the upper left hand corner; under the masthead...

That the box automatically clears out the characters [search here...]

Typical operations of that HTML function on other websites work as described above; when you click on the box to enter content, the box empties first.
As it is now, you have to highlight all of the [search here...] text and delete it before you can input what you want to search for.

FYI, I am using Chrome and Firefox.

Don't you see an X on the far right of the box to clear the box?

I do have the White X to clear the box when using IE, but not Chrome or Firefox.

I'm going to call that a bug & report it. Not great site behavior.

Another thing:

With the demographic and computer literacy of some of the members here; I think some of the members are missing the fact that there are actually links embedded in posts; with the fact that the HMTL title defaults to what appears in a post. I tend to think that when it defaulted to showing the HTTP://www.blah.blah.blah; that is was MUCH more apparent that a link was in the text they were reading; where they can click for more info.

Can we switch back, at least for a while; or make it default to show both the HTTP and HMTL in the posts?

IBobi 05-29-2013 08:42 PM

Can you show me an example of the other kind?
