Spiced Rum III gets 2 out of 3!
Spiced Rum III Two of Three in SKA Frances Langford Memorial
Captain Bill Wummer and the Spiced Rum III Fishing Team had a solid performance in the recent Frances Langford Memorial Tournament, winning the "Tuna" and "Lady Angler" categories and finishing a close second in Kingfish.
Spiced Rum Langford Angler Sheri Beswick boated the event's biggest Blackfin Tuna at just over 27-pounds, which also won her "Lady Angler" honors. Her husband, Wayne, landed the 471/2 pound King, but was bested by Mike Faurit of Knot Scared.
Part of the Southern Kingfish Association Tour, the Frances Langford Memorial is in its seventh year and had a new home port in Jensen Beach, Fla., but the waters were familiar enough for Wummer and his crew.
Wummer used his Latham Marine Steering to guide the 35-foot, Yamaha-powered, Contender into several large King s and Blackfins in 100 feet of water on the outside of a reef off Juno Beach.
"Having the very best equipment lets us focus on the fishing. It makes days like today possible," Wummer said.
The Spice Rum III fishing team is sponsored by Latham Marine, Admiral Nelson's Rum, Tito's Vodka, Yamaha Outboards and Contender Boats, with support from Gill Media, Tuppen's Marine, and the Medical Center of the Palm Beaches.
