The Sunsation while a nice boat is a small 28'.

The Powerplay would be great, but not an easy boat to find.

I know you say your going to do most of your boating on a river, with a time or two at LOTO and Lake Michigan. But what is your boating really going to be? Do you want all out speed, or do you want the best ride. Do you want something good to over night in? How many people will be with you? Don't get caught up in all the name BS you need to think about how you are going to use this boat.

Just asking why are you not considering a 29 or 33 Outlaws or Powerquest 280 and 290? Those can be had in your price range.

For lake Michigan your gonna want as big a boat you can get, or you wont get out much. Atleast you are on the west side of the lake it's not as bad as my side. But that lake can kick up in a hurry even when you think it will be nice.

A 29 or 33 outlaw would be a nice boat, I have nothing against baja's and if I a real nice one for a good price I would strongly consider it. PQ's seem a little less proformance and a little more dual purpose. I really love the look of an Old school flat deck boat and for as many years as I have been dreaming about getting a boat , ya kinda gotta get what's in your head. It's funny cuz 10 years ago when I started getting into power boats all I wanted was 22ft boat with a big block..... Then it turned into something I could sleep in if I had to.....then I decided I wanted wait till I could get something that wasnt clapped out. Well now I want twins and as big as my truck can pull. I just realized that every time I get to the point that I can buy what I want I upgrade what I want. And all I have been doing this whole time is bumming rides off my friends. I really am thinking I should get a 28zx for weight and gas reasons, but I want a boat that is close to an 80mph boat and will be able to reach that in time with some work. But that look of a pantera..........

Don't rule out a Velocity 280 or newer 29.

I absolutely love my 280 velocity. I ran 55-65 across solid 3 footers for 10 miles with out the first hint of rattle or clanking.

Absolutely love it!!

Yea I am pretty happy with the power for sure! The boat only weighs 7500lbs though. With an aluminum trailer it would probably be ok.

7500 plus the trailer...another 1500...9000 behind a 1/2 ton? OUCH! My 28 Thunder weighs 5300 plus 2300 triple axle steel Loadmaster and its all my 1/2 ton wants.

There is a 28 ZX Scorpion for sale up there, but your well below selling price. Spotless boat, SSM exhaust, beautiful trailer, indoor stored etc...
