'78 Pantera 24, little tiny cuddy and I want to install 90% of the stereo system under the deck. I have the cuddy door and two hatches for music to escape. Looking for any experiences in the actuall sound and quality from being under the deck. Posted in the Pantera section but no responses.

no actual experience but i can tell you that the quality will suck. Ok to have the head unit and amps in there to keep them out of the weather but you need to have speakers in the cockpit if you want it to sound half way decent. You can have a sub in the cabin, but the mids and highs won't travel well out doorways and hatches.

Sub work great in small cabins if toy can control the vibration. Dynamat will have to be placed in key areas. Some cabins actually create a "band pass" that can increase the bass. This effect happens in car trunks, and can actually work to your advantage.
I wouldn't put the mid bass in the cabin, you are going to need to close the the highs to sound correct. Many mid bass frequencies are not felt but heard, sub bass is omindorectional so they can be placed anywhere.
