I recently purchased a 2004 29 Fountain. It comes with a digital compass, Azimuth 1000. This might sound dumb, but how in the heck do you turn the thing on? There are 2 push buttons one says "mode" and the other says "set". Also there is a rubber button like label for the manufacturuer's name between them but I don't know if it is functional.
Right now it is just dead. Any help would be great!!!

The owner's manual is located here. It's supposed to be connected to a switched +12V source.
