Anyone know this 33 Scarab (tx boat repos)
My brother is looking for a new boat, and we ran across this. I know from reading on here that Tx boat repos can be kind of sketchy to deal with, so I was hoping someone knows this boat. I'm sure it's nowhere near TX, as I hear this company just snaps pics of boats for sale off their computer monitor and posts them as theirs. Very little info in the ad as usual. I posted something similar in the Scarab section, just thought I would reach out to a bigger audience. If someone knows how to get in touch with the real seller/owner, it would be greatly appreciated.

I actually put a bid in on this boat but was out bid by tx repo guy. I saw the boat last nov up at loto, it was clean from what I saw, had a couple of paint dings and one spot where u could see some spider cracking from an old repair. Its like whatever they used to repair it shrunk and now you can see it. The interior is clean only thing I saw wrong was the stitching on the seats that said scarab are gone. no rips or tears... I was looking inside and found some cozies from a crane company located down here in league city, so the boat was a salt boat. The broker I was dealing with thru commonwealth, told me that this paul casey guy sent a mechanic over to look at it, the guy wanted to start the motors, so they did, the broker said I don't know what the problem is but the motors sounded really bad and i think they are shot!

The boat is still at LOTO I saw it Monday morning. I went to heartland marine to check on a boat for a friend I'm Detroit . It was my first time at heartland and I wouldn't recommend anyone go there. It's more of a junk yard! They have the Texas repo guys boats. Strange buisness the boat I went to look at was listed like any other boat , when we called about it they say they know nothing about it and are just doing the guy in Texas a favor and we have to call him. So I drive over to look at it and its a hurricane sandy salvage boat that was under water! And on top of that the pictures in there lIsting are photo shopped! I walked around a bit and the whole place just has a bad vibe. And everything is sitting uncovered !

Something shady about pictures taken of pictures on a computer screen. If they are selling the boat, why don't they have the original photos? I would run, RUN! There is another thread about the guy from Texas Repos, trying to sell a different Scarab 33 on Facebook. Similar weird story. Everytime he is asked about where the boat is at, it is in a different place.....

Thanks for the info guys...evidently, the boat is back here in the Dallas area. My brother talked to the TBR guy, and he says that the motors have been completely torn down and rebuilt. My bro got the name of the machine shop, and will call and verify that it was really rebuilt. Time for due dilligence, and we'll see where it goes. I'll update the thread when we know more. We are taking a family trip next week, so it will be the week after before we do anything on it anyway. I'm going to try and go look at it tomorrow. Once again, thanks again for the info, gotta love the power of OSO.
