came across this boat :
http://kennedyautomarine.autotrader....7e3728b39c.htm
13 hours from home and don't feel like spending this time just to find out I don't like it! know of any closer to Montreal?
or, how would you compare, for those who have seen one in person, with a formula 382 or 419? sonic 38 or 42? hustler 40? scarab 38? BT43 or velocity 41?
these are my other choices, although I have'nt seen in person the hustler fiore 40 and the BT 43
Thanks for your input!

The 37 AT cabin is similar in size to a 382 Formula or 38 Scarab.
40 Hustler and 43 BT have much larger and taller cabins.
The 37 AT cabin is only a few inches taller than my 32 AT cabin and about 3' longer.

The ad is wrong, it's a 37.
There have been a few different cabin configurations over the years.
Center entry or (port) side entry.
In 2003 the deck mold was changed to add a little more headroom. Prior to 2003, the deck mold has more a flat-deck. Post 2003 has a sloping deck that slopes up toward the windshield; producing 2-3" more headroom from roughly the V-berth --> aft.
All of the 37s prior to 2002 were built with component built cabins. Basically, each interior was custom built.
All of the 37s since 2002 (except 3), have drop in cabin fiberglass liners, basically defining the entire cabin structure, storage, couches, berth, head, etc. etc.
To recap, this boat in question will have a little bigger feel to it than the other flat deck (38 Formula) boats of it's day (of the same length); as the hull and deck are taller than most. It will be noticeable. All of the other (bigger) boats you mention will have a bigger cabin as with length, usually comes some hull depth as well. The 43 Black Thunder will be cavernous.
The only boat that is still 38-ish feet with a much larger cabin would be a 38 Powerplay as it is a much taller profile. The 38 Powerquest will also be slightly larger as it also has a taller profile. When trying to compare, make sure you notice how tall the hulls are from pictures and when you can actually measure them. Also, make note of how much boat is above the rub rail/hull-deck joint. Interior cabin height makes a cabin feel bigger; not length.

Before we bought our 98 last year (center entry) our first joice was a Scarab 38. We inspected on at National Liquidators in Fort Lauderdale FL summer 2011.
At the same time a AT 37 (belive 99 Center entry) from Canada came in. We watched at it and i would say the cabin is very similor/same style but with much more headroom and itīs more wide.
The Scarab was my Dream Boat for years but now where we can hold one here in Germany we ended with the AT 37
