There were a few members here from Ohio that got the third degree a few times. Some people pulled over up to 3 times in one day.

State law will not trump the Coast Guard or Border Patrol.

Kentucky's change was signed by the Governor on April 10, 2014.

Amend KRS 235.310 to only allow boating enforcement officers to enter upon boats on the waters of the Commonwealth if the officer has a reasonable and articulable suspicion that a violation of KRS Chapter 235 or the administrative regulations promulgated thereunder has occurred; allow the department to conduct periodic inspections of marine sanitation devices according to regular inspection schedules; name the Act the Boater Freedom Act.

Big HUGE difference, It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be..... Have only seen the Coast Guard once this year.

That sounds pretty vague to me....

"you were weaving"
"your were going too fast"
"thought your wake was too high"
You forgot..." Your boat seems too be louder than the maximum decibel level..."

Last time I Was in my flatbottom it went like this, stopped after a speed run.
"you were going pretty fast back there" I responded, is there a speed limit??? and wheres your radar??? he moved on to the next question, no speed limit here.
"that boat sure is loud, is it legal?" I responded, whats the limit and wheres your decibel reader? I'm not aware of any noise regulations here in La
After checking registration, fire extinguisher etc, went on to the pfd, then, "any boat over 17" needs a throwable ring and rope" being a single seater, I replied " You have a tape measure? and who am I gonna throw it to ? or throw it to me?
I got away with just a warning on that.
