Skater 338 Fat Boy First Test a huge Success!
First sea trial for Louie Marchese’s new Skater 338 Fat Boy is a huge success!
Louie Marchese, who with Loe Marine display’d his new Skater 338 Fat Boy at the 2013 Miami Boat Show sea trialed the boat for the first time this week. With just a few minor issues the first impressions are “very impressive”. In the words of Marchese “this thing runs so smooth at *** that you could drink cocktails”! 100 mph cruise speed is achieved at 3,700 rpm while cruising with a set of Mercury 5 Blade propellers. Marchese would like to thank Mercury for letting him try a set of propellers on his maiden test.

Marchese claims the boat accelerates extremely hard and is very easy to drive. Marchese gave the 338 Fat Boy its baptism test on the Kankakee River, IL while the river is not very straight Marchese stated, it was a good place to start the boats water testing and the river is close to his home in Coal City, IL. Marchese stated “this boat has a lot of speed in it and I’m going to need even bigger pitch propellers because I can pull these like they are nothing”
The first Skater 338 Fat Boy is powered by a set of Eddie Young engines coupled with a set of Arneson #7M Drive Units. First sea trials were with a set of Mercury 5 Bladed propellers. Marchese stated he is going to change his testing location as he needs a larger area in order to properly test the boats speed and propellers.
