Thumbs up I can't believe this thread is still alive!

I can't believe this thread is still alive!

I'd love to see this hull get the west coast ski-racing treatment!
I've seen twin big blocks in a stretched Ausie 21, Ive seen The Halletts and Schiadas run big Super and Turbo power, I've seen an IMCO twin drive splitter so you could balance the boat and split the single engine horsepower...something like 1400hp if I recall between 2 outdrives.

The recent state of the art 21 is from Nordic. It sports a a Mercury Racing 1350!

I wonder what a GL21 would do with that power?

Whoa...and now of course the "21S Force" from Australia...check out the Mercury Racing blog yesterday:
2012 Australian Water Ski Racing Championships
http://www.mercuryracing.com/blog/99...-championship/

" Imagine racing a 21-foot boat in which our potent quad cam, four valve 1350 sterndrive takes up half of the interior! That’s gotta be a rush on its own. "
Ha!

Was not Denooyer's original Sting a 21 challenger with a sternpowr drive and a huge motor? It was around a lot this summer with a Bravo setup now.

George! Great to have you on board here!!

The Ausie "21S Force" has strakes that are straight back-to-front as opposed to the offshore US style (the Challenger also) which curve to follow the chine line. Usually the Aussie ski-race boats have less beam....even down to 6-1/2 feet but I believe this is at least a 7 footer. I was looking for some steps but I did not see any but the delta pad was pronounced. A 5 or 6 blade prop would hope to control some on the chine walking....but who knows?...It's still a single screw boat with the usual torque issues. The Nordic driver seemed to drive through "through" the oscillation. This boat may have a bit more V than the Challenger...but not much.

The Nordic's bottom has its origin in Australia. Both Hallett and Schiada now also offer narrow beam Ausie style ski-race boats.

Narrow beam, pad-V-bottom, Lots of power and....whew! Stand back and these guys are SKIING behind these boats!
