Annoying anchor!

I store my box anchor and line all in a duffle bag, wrapped in a automotive fender liner. I've replaced the duffle bag a few times over 10 years, but works perfect. On my current boat, I store it in the cabin under one of the couches. If it goes away wet, I just pull out the bag, open it, and let it air out in the garage.

Park next to cruisers - they always have anchors.
We keep ours under the rear seat and have not had any problems i.e. our speaker wires are strapped up. I did give this one SOB here on OSO and anchor in a bag and I think he still uses it after 3 years now. Maybe he will chime in?

Hate that my formula doesn't have anchor locker on bow. Looking at fountains and only considering the ones with anchor locker so lightning it will be. Drives me crazy jumping up on bow carrying anchor an chain.

why not drop it ,,dont throw it but drop it on the side of the cockpit area and reverse the boat while releasing more line??works great,,
most manufactures do not have anchor lockers because they spider crack the hull from the anchor bouncing around..

12meterJoe,
I tried to send you a message but your message box is full. Below is my email address. Please contact me and I will send you a design I have been working on for a while. I need some market research help to determine if what I have is sellable before posting my final product. Thanks

This is perfect timing for this thread... and while not 100% on topic, it is anchor related: For those of you with anchor boxes up front, what are do you put in there to keep the anchor from bouncing around and to maybe absorb and help dissipate some of the water from the line? I just cleaned out my bow-anchor box last week and threw out this old, crusty, brittle blanket that looks like it had been used in a graveyard for many years. I need to put something back in there so that the anchor doesn't bounce around too much as 'boatnt' mentioned above...
I also need to get some plastic wrapped chain... my chain is just the bare metal and scares me when coming close to the rub rail on the way up.
thanks,
- justin
