I think a lot has to do with a sense of "entitlement" or "status" some people feel when they buy a boat. Not everyone buys a boat like ours strictly because they share our passion for boating... for some it represents something. The funny thing is the people I've encountered that most often feel the most "entitled" because they own "the baddest boat out there" generally have the low end stuff. The guys with the serious hardware generally (generally) are humble individuals. I think the guys that have a hard time swallowing the fact that they haven't got the baddest stuff on the water are those that take seriously the brand bashing. Only reason I've got a Fountain is because I couldn't afford an OL or a Cig. I'm not going to try and tell you all the excuses and reasons WHY I decided to buy a Fountain instead of an OL to make myself feel better. Let me win the lottery... I'll be the guy pulling my spare Statement around with my 52 OL.
