did the older donzis have hull numbers?
im looking at a donzi 24 cc boat in fl. the guy gave my buddy some bs story donzi didnt start using hull numbers until 76...wtf
the boat is in good shape, the engines run well i want to buy it, but im not feeling the no hull number deal. i plan to import the boat to colombia, i dont think there is any way customs will let me export it from the states, nor will colombia let it pass customs with no hull number!
i thought donzi put hull numbers on every one of their boats from day one. correct?

RM, Donzi didn't put HIN on the transom until I believe 1972 but the boys at Donzi.org or Donzi.net will confirm, the HIN was written in black marker on the back of the dash or the bow eye chock up under the deck. Some boats had a foil tag behind the seat back....... just gotta look..... ;-)

i did post over there, someone just responded...
"Every Donzi always had a hull number from the beginning.
The government mandated embossed Transom hull number system only first appeared sometime in 1972 and after.
The earlier boats had a silver "Donzi Sticker" with it's number stuck inside the boat.
There is also a hull number in black felt pen marker under the dashboard & also up by the underside of bow eye mounting block.
I do not know the year of this Donzi however.
Hope this helps ? "
