Looks like the job was awarded to polesmoker! Going forward all Ilmor engines will only be available in John Deere Green!

They were still crying when I hung up on them. ;) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...by-gt500-3.jpg :CHIP: ) Too bad I'm not an Engineer, because that would be a fun job/project! |
This could be a problem if this is true!!

How did ILMORDONZI quote end up in this thread about a job posting???
Someone is a little behind b/c 625's became 650's about 3 years ago and all the V-10 engines include a drive rated for the ILMOR claimed H.P. so I'm not sure I follow nor do I see the relevancy. They aren't packaged w/ TCM or IMCO drives. |

[QUOTE=CH1P;3985522]Did they say anything about "marinising these"?
Big difference between an automobile engine & a marine engine w/ regard to the amount of time sustained at high rpm under a load. Pretty sure the Turbo Viper cars aren't running foot to the floor for 20+ mins at a time. |

Ilmor determined years ago that the V-10 blocks are not beefy enough up stand up to the continuous loads incurred in a turbo/supercharged marine application. The 725/Indy package is 200 hp more than any other production normally-aspirated sterndrive package. That's enough for them.

I was laughing pretty good as I caught up on this thread. See me waving in the aerial shot?
We know what we have with the 570 block. The v10 was fun during the S/C project. |

I'm no engine expert by any means but isnt the 570 a cast block and you guys developed your own forged internals? Sounds to me like a great platform to add a few psi to or is there a weak link im missing. Sorry just the though of a light weight more affordable twin turbo motor from a reliable company like ilmor is making me smile. |
Keep smiling, we aren't going anywhere. Thx for the kind words
