ENGINE BUILDER MAG.COM High Performance Boating Market
http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Arti...ng_market.aspx
Just received my copy today. See the market is getting some attention and may help boost the sport. I see Chris Sunkin, is the contributing editor. |
I got it in the mail also. So my question is why Chris Sunkin for the report in EB magazine. I have no idea who he is except he was up here at one time and left to start seriousoffshore.com
Seems the name comes up, thrown around a lot up here as a dog? A couple years ago Engine Builder mag did a report from Bob Madera - Marine Kinetics from New York. |

Here we go....................
I am guessing 297 responses. Almost 10 pages if you're setting is 30 responses per page. If this stays on the front page until after November 1 I am upping my guess to 423 responses. |
Chris Sunkin is a 40-year performance boating enthusiast and the founder of seriousoffshore.com, a web forum serving this market. Chris is an experienced machinist and builder and has built and rigged numerous high-performance boat powertrains.

Oh this is some funny azz shiit, here is a QUOTE:
I’ve seen sections of -12 3,500 psi hose affixed to a shiny red anodized AN adapter on a pump or cooler. The rigger failed to notice that the passage through that section was a third the size of the rest of his plumbing. He saw this in the pictures I posted in "my oil problems from stock hardware" thread that I posted on here years ago and then ASKED me to post it on serious offshore before he became a pariah around here!!! I guess its not a lie though, he DID see it, just it was in MY pictures I posted, LMAO, Smitty |
Oh this is EVEN cooler, in the comment section:
Sunkin built the motors in all 6 of my 41 Apache's. 927 hours on 1500hp bad azz blower motors and I haven't even had to change the oil yet!!! |
this is going to be a good thread....

Was a long thread on here I did 6 or 8 years ago with real detailed pics showing how small some of the stock adapter holes and such really are, when serious offshore was formed I was invited by several members here that trusted Sunkin and Sunkin himself to join over there and was asked to post the thread and pics from OSO there also. The site itself was sorta fizzling so I quit going on there, I just find it humorous reading what he says , Smitty
I was just being stupid. I meant that he should have at least thanked you if he was going to steal your pics and story. Eddie |

The comments under his "story" are getting better, his fan club must have caught up:
"Apache RACING Sunkin is my hero, he saved a family of RATS from a engine room fire while driving to a charity even after being ejected from a real race boat all in the same DAY!! He then went on to single handedly collect charity funds directly into his own pockets and was gracious enough to pull cash right out these same pockets and buy rounds of drinks for all his good friends while he enlightened them with his VAST knowledge!! Everyone just absolutely loves and praises his expertise , the only naysayers are the children's charity foundation who he bounced the check to that had to sue him to get paid, other than that, WOW, he's THE MAN." |

Looks like they removed the "negative" comments about the con man named Chris Sunkin from the comments section. LOL
|
you'll like the comment I made, won't last long but maybe get the editor's attention.
|
All the negativity around Sunkin aside, it really isn't that great of an article.
|
Sunkin would be better off posing as a snake handler in a Pentecostal church in the Appalachia backwaters. I apologize if there are and Pentecostal snake handlers viewing this post.

Once a SNAKE Always a SNAKE The Oracle of Ohio .............................
In a loud southern minister voice " FOR SHAME' OUUTA DEVIL OUTTA" then all the people drink cool aid ............. ............ |
His fan club is really rolling out the praise!!
Avatar truth teller • 2 hours ago what a load of crap... I'm sure Mercury Marine appreciates this tool trying to speak about the technical side of their engines. especially since chris sunkin never owned one • Reply • Share › Avatar Tom truth teller • an hour ago He has never rigged a single boat... • Reply • Share › Avatar Jimmi • 5 hours ago This guy is a complete scam and you have just fallen for it. • Reply • Share › Avatar Dick • 5 hours ago Holy fvcking hell! This is such drivel from one of the least likely scumbags to have ever dealt with any of this. It's so plagiaristic, it reeks. The photos are stolen from another individual from another forum. Engine Builder Mag has just single-handedly, in one fell swoop, ruined any credibility they may have once had. For a good laugh: http://www.chris-sunkin.com/ • Reply • Share › Avatar Frank • 5 hours ago Not a machinist not an engine builder and has rigged nothing. • Reply • Share › Avatar Bill • 6 hours ago You do know this guy took all his examples from others that have work real hard in the marine business.Really should check the back ground of your tech people.I may just cancel my subscription to this magazine. FYI,he's never owned a boat. • Reply • Share › |

I google his name and a lot of stuff comes up. He had to know doing the engine Builder magazine story that everyone under the sun was going to hammer him. Either he likes the attention or likes to have others punish him. Who hasn't google their own name just to see what pulls up. His is like a set of Encyclopedias worth of stuff on the net.

All pretty comical.
This is about the tenth time Smitty has told his story about his groundbreaking discoveries on rubber hose and how he was asked to reprint it. Thank God he created radius fittings and hoses over quarter inch ID. Otherwise none of us would have ever gone over 30 MPH. In fact, I think every trophy ever handed to a racer should have his name engraved on it, now and forever, because without the legendary Smitty, none of the, not none of us would have any reason to even try. But hey, let's not let facts get in anyone's way. Check out Post number 3- http://www.seriousoffshore.com/forum...tml#post469189 Sounds pretty much like someone being quite complimentary. And the pic in post number 5? That you Smitty? There's about twenty people on here that are so enamored with themselves its hilarious. Most of them have worked long and hard to wedge themselves into this story even though they have absolutely no connection or nothing to do with it. This post will last all of about ten minutes, since that's all the longer anything with any truth ever lasts around here. |

Give it up already You must have more important things to concentrate on. |

:lolhit::lolhit::lolhit::lolhit::lolhit::lolhit: But he did claim to build that Maginot Line around his house. LOL! Chris Sunkin, jackwagon extraordinaire. I'm hoping he will post on this thread, usually first under a bullchit name to get his lies/gameplan set up. Then Knucklehead himself makes an appearance under his screen name. Maybe Fundy and Boozecat will join in. Always entertaining. |
I get a kick out of his screen names.. "really and are you kidding me" as if it is the rest of the worlds fault that no one chooses to be involved with a pathological liar. Tell ya what chris, if you sign up again under the name lying pathetic douchebag, ill lobby on your behalf to oso to let you stay.... oh and btw now everyone knows that your new bogus companyin sandusky ( big tom callahan would be ashamed) custom marine is a sham too... real marine businesses dont operate out of a storage unit on milan rd ;).... oh you still havent returned my call, how come?

Counterman must be hard up for storytellers. I'm surprised Sunkin didn't change his last name to Disney before he applied for the job. They might have made him a partner.

No one is pi ssed at you about anything. But I'm sure there are many out there amazed at how self-important you are. Do you seriously think you were the first and only person to ever realize there were line and fitting differences? You certainly must as you continue to dine out on your story about how you put seriousoffshore on the map with your article.
I think these people would be interested in your literary prowess- and they may be able to supply you with the recognition and validation you so crave- http://www.pulitzer.org/how_to_enter That might come up short in satisfying your need so this may fill that void- http://www.nobelprize.org/nomination/physics/ I've alerted them that you'll be in contact. I do owe you an apology for stealing from the photo of the fuel lines off of my friend's boat that I took in my driveway. Who do I send the royalty check to? |

Thank hell you showed up Chris, I was beginning to think this thread would be a dud. I read your article in Counterman, you haven't lost a step. Pure BS at it's finest. Smooth, consistent and endless lies......like poetry! Showoff!!
