Dedication Thread
That was a great write up along w some great photos. Let's keep this thread as a dedication and keep negative comments and opinions out. Any pictures that can be added would even be better. I have some of Jeff from 2012 Shootout and a short video leaving Toads when the Skater was Blue. I swear that guy couldnt leave that thing docked for 10 min, he was out making passes by Gators and Toads and the only thing I thought was...damn that looks like a blast. He was having fun and him and Brad were having fun and doing what they loved to do. PERIOD

Very well said! I did not know Jeff, but knew Brad very well. Man we lost a couple of great guys. Brad was as good of a guy you would ever want to meet. Krissy I know this has to be tough, hang in there. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Mike & Brenda

Absolutely brilliantly written, Brad. That's how you commemorate two special individuals this community so greatly respected.

Here are a few photos I had of Jeff and Brad from the past few years.

I would really like to have a printed copy of this if that is at all possible.

Great Story about some great guys.

My memory goes back a couple of years ago to Ugly Johns Poker Run at Grand Lake. We were guests of Bob and Sue Morgan, On one of the stops, (I remember it was lunch) everyone was around the restaurant and bar area waiting on a table. The crew wearing the "Smith" t-shirts was having a great time and I remember the conversation/banter between Brad and Bob, sort of the old vs new regime. You could tell there was total respect on both sides and they were not only comparing who could out do who that day, but the same time share knowledge and set up tips. I was impressed by the knowledge and camaraderie all the groups had. It truly was a family.
Ironically I had this same sharing of conversation w/Brad at the Toad this year at Shootout.... He seemed to actually remember the day when we talked and shared how he too missed our friend Bob Morgan... I am not religious, But I truly believe they are now together to help whomever is the "next in line for innovation", they will be helping this person along the way in spirit... RIP,,, |
Commemorative decals, t-shirts, posters, etc., to remember Brad and Jeff are fine, but may I suggest pursuing another, more permanent way to honor them? Namely, pursuing their induction into the new Shootout Hall of Fame. (I must admit that I suggested this at another website's forum, but it failed to gain any traction.) Not knowing Brad or Jeff, I wouldn't feel right trying to lead such an effort. It really needs to be spearheaded by those who knew them. Go for it.
|
So sad, just can't believe it... Was excited for these guys to race that 46 Skater next year! I'm at a loss for words as like everyone else is too I'm sure :(
My heart really goes out to the families!! Especially Brads kids and wife! |

This is a huge loss for our community. I can only add my own experience from the night before.
Always positive, every time- although I only saw them when they were shining at an event. Had a long conversation with Jeff- he was always ready to talk... I had put him off from last year about prints, and we were laughing about it. Every time I had run into him this year he was ribbing me to get him some 'wallhangers' and I finally snagged one at LOTO. He was glad he hadn't bought prints with the blue paint. :cartman: Here's the shot from LOTO. We were laughing... Really gonna miss these fellas. http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/3319/xa7v.jpg |
As Usual, GREAT SHOT JAY!

Thanks to everyone for the thoughts, prayers and well wishes. Brad meant the world to me and many others in our family. Not a single day goes by when I'm not pulling out my phone showing off his accomplishments. I talked about him constantly to my friends, collegues and anyone who would listen.
He made it to the top of the game. I think he knew, but damn I wish he could see all the positive things being socialized on the forums, Facebook and personal messages. I know he is looking down upon us and shining his big heart on our lives. He was NOBODY on this forum and joined in December of 2002. I guarantee not many believed NOBODY could become a true legend in just 10 years. I hope his legacy provides an inspiration to all. If you didn't know B-RAD...well...he was kind of a BIG DEAL!!! |

Amen brother! I was just talking this weekend with some people and thats what we were discussing how he changed so much in the field in such a short time. Brad was a true genis when it came to engine building, tuning, and the endless ideas of rigging. I could only imagine the things he would be doing with another 10+ years. He will always be a legend and truly missed. |
I couldn't agree more!!
|
Same Goes for me!!!
I'm still having a hard time believing he is no longer with us here :( |
Keep it going
