Cost for a boat lift?
I'm just wondering how much does a boat lift cost? I have a 25' Baja and need a lift of at least 7,000lbs. What are the additional cost for a canopy top? Opinions on Shorestation vs Shoremaster? How much more would a 10,000lbs lift cost? Just incase I want a bigger boat.

A saltwater lift or fresh water hoist, big difference.

Fresh water. I'll need to take it out for the winter time. I'm looking to have it on the Three Lakes Chain in Wisconsin at my parents lake house.
|
If you have a floating dock with a finger on both sides id look at an econolift. Air it up and leave it in all winter. I used to install them and theyre really a nice product. A 10k will lift my 38' TG full of fuel just to give you an idea on ratings. New is about $1per pound. Also make a 4500, 7500, and a 12000

I've got a seven month old 10K lbs PolyLift with long-arm upgrade and Captains Choice remote for sale if your interested. It was $12k brand new this spring.
|
No I'm looking to have a wooden dock. Thank you though.
|
I would like to but I have to wait. For right now during the summer time my boat sits on the trailer. A lift would be nice to have at my parents lake house. This way I could walk down the steps lower the boat into the water start it up and go. After being done boating raise the boat up and put the cover back on that would be it.

I'm a RGC dealer. Just did a 8000 lb unit with direct drive and a 124" wide by 34' long canopy and cost was $12500. I also use this same unit for my 2001 35 Fountain lightning and lifts it well. RGC makes many different sizes but depending on style and canopy versus no canopy price is roughly $1 per pound to $1.50 per pound with canopy.

Buy used...I got my super overkill 10k polylift for 4500. The thing is fantastic. Craigslist is a good place to look.

I've got one and love it. This was my third season and I found out a mouse had chewed a small hole in one over the winter. Pretty easy to fix. Seems like I paid about 3500 3 years ago. I believe it's a 10k# |

I've had two of the vegtable piston lifts. One for my Betram Comp and just picked up another one this season for the Mirage. They are free standing and are left powered down in the water off season. They are very smooth and simple to get on and off by yourself. They also are fast up and down. PM me if you would like Chad's number to see what he has available. I hate when you post pics of my favorite boat LOL... |
Contact mike nanda at IMM/quality boat lift. He is a friend and mentor. I typically go to him with one-off ideas and hard to accomplish needs. To date, I have more than a dozen "unique needs" for lifts in excess of 27k lbs and down. In fact, there are at least two members on oso that have heeded this same advice and had stellar results.....below what they expected to pay.....especially with the "custom" need attached.
He is the owner.....and a simple "I was referred to you by Cap'n rich from Cape Coral" will net you the benefit of the family plan... Mike/IMM Quality is not national, they are global. You can search through my previous threads to see the results from other members "referrals.." Oh....and Shawn....their engineer.....tha best! Mike Nanda IMM Quality Boat Lifts 239.454.7020 Don't talk to a sales puke. Talk directly to the owner. You will be pleased. |

I have a Jet Dock system that i used for my 27 Powerquest. I sold the boat, moving to a sea ray and looking to sell the dock. it is in the OSO classifieds. But anyways, with the drive on dock, much easier to maintain and you can walk around the whole boat. No needing to raise or lower the dock very easy to use. My buddy has his 48 Fountain Express on one and Jet Dock sells to Coast Guard.

Well thank you the boat lift is unfortunetly gonna have to wait.

Something that just came to mind would a 6,000lbs lift work for my boat? Or should I go 7,000lbs? Seeing that my boat weighs 4750lbs. Add the additional weight of fenders, ropes, 2 anchors, batteries, and gas. I want to be safe and not have to worry. I've made the decision to keep my boat in the long run. I'm not going to upgrade to a bigger boat.

I have a 226 Cobalt that we purchased a 5000# lift - with cover, electric 24V lift. We purchased it from Hardy Dock in Three Rivers Michigan
Phone: (269) 816-3325 The guy to speak with is Robbie- I know he has got a variety of sizes to fit all kind of boats. He's a good ol boy but he cut us one heck of a deal all the best 3pointstar |
buy the bigger one,,one day you might need it it you decide to buy a bigger boat..
|
I would want more margin of error in that calculation if it was me. 1250 lbs isn't much. For me we lift the boat with people, coolers and kiddos all the time. That can add an extra 1000 lbs instantly
|
Thank you there I'll play it rather safer and go with 7000lbs lift. With my boat it's ideal for lakes and rivers. It's not at all necessary for me to get a bigger boat. I truly enjoy my boat. I'm not going to use it on the Great Lakes at all.

Actually boat lift price depends upon the following category:
