Look it up, and the 8 is NOT the same design!! And I'm not talking about breaking them. I'm talking about performance and hydrodynamic drag!!

I see your point but its moot. who cares how fast it is if its broke? The M8 is basically the same design but beefed up. Most of the race boats will be running arnesons or BPM's anyway.

This web site proves what professor speed is saying. There is no way to have greater then E100.

The 1350 and 1650 are pretty cool. Maybe a little over priced IMO. But they did a lot of R&D and they need to get the return on investment.

I personally would not buy one because I like cool custom stuff.

My 1560 hp sterlings lived 5 TIMES longer than my Merc 1350's, and are still alive today.

I beat the hell out of my sterlings...

And I'm no engine guy, but why do you need to lash the valves every 25 hours in an overhead quad cam setup?

..... Same thing I have to do with my pushrod sterling engines....

Where are those Sterlings???

professor_speed 10-27-2013 03:29 PM

This very true what those should be and what they are not one and same, a Dohc engine should be virtually maintenance free, should only be limited by the bottom end.

I have them waiting to go into a project that's being built right now :)
