Boat prices double in 10 years?
#1
I was thinking today and realized the price of a new boat, at least one I was interested in, has doubled since '03. I looked at a boat at the Lauderdale show in '03, and was quoted $185K with 500 efi's. Now the same boat with 525's is $379K. Amazing.

Technology, features, powerplants, materials, have all changed a lot in 10 years. Expense, labor, logistics, have all gone up in varying amounts as much as double or triple.
And someone still has to make some sliver of a profit; else no one would be in the boat business.
2004 Corvette Coupe Base price: ~$43K
2014 Corvette Z51 Base price: ~$72K
And let's not even get started on the pricing on 2004 vs. 2014 diesel pickups.

yeah, ended up not being real impressed by him, but that $600,000,000,000 or LESS a year debt actually looks REALLY good now!
With new prices going up so much, I am surprised the used market is still so rough. The government says inflation is only 25% over the last 10 years. 2007 was the worse at 4.1%. They wouldn't be lying or fixing the numbers would they!?!?!?! ha.

Here you go. Friend of mine shared a similar meme on FB with a motorcycle shot from back in the day with a guy doing a wheelie. I adjusted the thought to fit my needs for my page. Click picture to see full size, right click and save.
