Their speed calc using gear ratio, prop pitch, slip and rpm works pretty good, but it has a glitch if you "play" with the numbers. I always do mine the old fashioned way so i know it's right on. I think almost all of their calcs work pretty well except for the one I mentioned. Which may work in a lot of cases. But, like I said there are a lot of variables. I do agree that 60 mph in a 43000 lb boat with 2000 hp is cruising!

Actually, I take that back. That calculator may be accurate. The problem with my boat is it has a surface drive so my prop slip is much higher. if I just use their constant for a fast V-bottom of 250 it says 76 is max speed. I used 200 because my boat has over 15% prop slip. Most don't.

I have seen the Italian Cigarettes before, nice styling. But at 21+ tons And a 24 Degree Bottom?? Hell 18-20 degrees would of been better ! But Aronow said you do not screw with success 24 Degrees .Same BTW with the 53 Magnum . :)

60 isn't all that fast in a boat that big timucin. There is a 55 Hylite running around the Muskegon and Grand Haven areas of Lake Michigan that weighs in at 41,000 lbs and runs OVER 70 mph with 1300 hp MTU's. I know this because I've been on the boat at the dock and he passed us like we were standing still while we were doing a GPS 64 mph. I believe that at Lake X it dialed in at 74 mph. I have no trouble believing 60 mph from Roger's boat.

be careful pls: I did not say I dont believe...
I said I can not imagine.

;)

the reason why I am trusting that bam formula is what ever I have calculated is very close to real-speeds .+/-

Sure sounds like you don't believe it.
