I think Bam had an actual transmission conversion with mounting plates and all. Was suppose to be a complete replacement kit. Has anyone converted to those? Seems like a lot of those NXT transmissions fail or get stuck in gear. When we were out at Bocca a few weeks ago a 39 top gun beached next to us stuck in forward. I know another guy with a 36mti same thing happened and one of our fellow SCOPE members has gone through 3 or 4 of them on his 44 Hustler. What's the down side of putting an actual transmission in?

Brand x was working with bam doing a couple r&d installs. The nxt trans is a bit shorter than a velvet drive which nessecitated a whole new design iirc.

That transmission is really a little mini Bravo so I guess you can't expect too much from it.

Exactly. It's virtually NO different than the cone-clutch in the top of Bravo drive. You just don't destroy a full drive when parts merge with the drive fluid and turn into applesauce with the NXT.

I had similar issues with my NXT transmissions so I replaced them with Huber 1450s, which are based on the same Borg Warner 72C as the BAM. They are both good units and either one will be much better than the NXT. Haven't had a transmission issue in five seasons since the swap.

Here are a few pictures of the kit. A driveline setup is no problem, the plug-in is much more involved. We had to make our own very short tailstock and extension box to avoid moving the engine.

I'll see if I can find some pics of the actual install.
