What do you think is the best V bottom boat being built today and why?
This will probably turn into a bash thread but I am really just interested in which manufactures are still working to improve design. I would lean toward Outerlimits and Nor tech. Are their new hull designs better than the existing Fountain, Cig. Donzi hulls that have really not changed?

"Best" depends..do you mean fastest? Build quality? Fit and finish? Rough water capability?

You never mentioned size - but if we're talking ~ 20 feet, Allison rules.

For sure a 2006 Donzi ZR

Outerlimits 43, and 29 all things considered. Still not sure a OL43 will outrun a 42 Fountain poker run with equal power and current Prop technology.

It really does depend on what you want. I'm thinking that my next boat might well be a Formula. I'm nearly 60 and in another 5 years or so I might enjoy a nice cabin and a top quality boat that can still run 60+. For performance I like OL, Cig and Sunsation. And if they start building them again, Donzi ZR.

Schwartzcraft, hands down the absolute best.

Tough question but actually a good one.
I just wish these type of threads would not get derailed so we all could learn actual info. IMO the offshore powerboat world is so small that any website or magazines would lose a majority of their advertising money if they spent to much time on heads up testing and technology comparisons. So that leaves us with what manufactures market towards us and a bunch of biased opinions. Good luck bud |
Just looking for a bashfest or what? :lolhit:
Great question. I would like to know also. |
