Having crewed on several top dollar teams, where money was no object. It always came down to SKATER. I have personally spent may weeks at skater while either getting the finishing touches on a new boat or having some repairs made after a race.
Also I know for a fact that the new 40ft Mystic, unrigged, is Quite pricey. A 388 skater is almost half the price of the new unproven Mystic. I know this seems hard to believe ,but trust me its true.
As far as MTI goes. If I remember right when Randy S. was running the Victory team they splashed a mold off of a skater and called it a Victory hull. Then Randy came back home and expanded on that format. And called his MTI. So it seems to me that MTI is a revised version of a Skater.
Now don't get all upset and tell me I'm wrong unless you really know the facts. I wasn't evolved with the Victory team or Randy's new MTI. If Iam wrong (which Iam almost positive I'm not) I will stand corrected. I was around working on rce teams when all this was going on. Also I'am NOT taking anything away from Randy for building a great boat.

SKATER!!!!!!

All are great boats and are better at certain things. For me you can not beat a skater, they have the most experience building cats and just build boats that flat out perform. The Doug Wright 32 is also amazing and I'm really excited to see how that company grows and expands over the years.

My dream boat would be a 338 skater with mercury 1350's and arneson drives.

For me I would buy a Skater, just my opinion. But If I won the Power ball I would have a Skater for one house, a MTI for a Florida home and a DCB for a Southwestern area home. Maybe a DW for another home in the Finger Lake area. Oh yeah let's not for get another Skater for my LOTO home. OK time to wake up now!

What about Nor Tech? I have never been on one but absolutely love the way they sit in the water. Gorgeous.

I think we need more threads like this during the "off season." Maybe we could open new and informative threads on best lawnmower, best breakfast cereal, best tampon, best jock strap, best dentures, best ...

Words fail me.

I know, but in this case, it might need FAA clearance and a flight plan- literally

I always loved the look of the 36 NTs but the Skaters/MTIs are probably the best cats out there.......
