Your boat needs a big bustle if your going to twerk it when it gets rough......

In our case, lift. Take a look at an airplane wing for some reference... The smoother this area is, the more benefit is achieved.

In some other cases the tunnel length is extended. I'd say why, but then I'd get flamed for knocking another brand... So you guys can run with it..:angry-smiley-038:

Why- Go ask Johnny T the difference in Driving Chip Romers old 388 and Now Jon Roths 388. Both have the same huge power. From what I was told, the little longer tunnel felt less squirmy... Then again Pete had told me years ago- that's its a looks thing and now a swim step... Idk lol

Lol at the dirty air behind the boat. The offset weight that helps the CoD does not help, actually hurts - You can do the same thing with no bustle, as a sharp drop off works just as well. I would love to see the model they run through CAE and show me a bustle actually works minus the weight offset.

To give you an idea on a vehicle.

Tire spoilers can give you around .004
A rear spoiler I have seen helps up to .020
A front air damn can help around .010
Cooling drag is around .030
Mirrors are generally around .015
A smooth underbody can be worth anywhere near .003-.010 depending on the front air damn
A rear diffuser can be .005.

To give you an idea of what vehicles run, a newer truck is a .370-.420 and a car can be as low as .270, IE prius or Fusion.

Funny only thing Pete told me it was that it would cost extra!:lolhit:

Oh and does my bussel make my 338 look fat?

Well that too Sam! Haha

OK, it seems that a long bustle on a cat extends the tunnel and gives more stability and lift but on a vee are more for swim platforms.

Simple economics! Dropping a cool mil on a 46 cat adds 2 inches on ur tool...adding a 4 ft bustle only costs another 20k but adds 2 more inches by crossing the 50 ft mark! :santa::santa:
