I am getting ready to svc and or do uppers to my 525's with 380 hrs. I think the uppers have already been done once trying to find that info out. My question is does Jesel not make a rocker for these heads?? My last few engines have been symmetrical port style "big chief" heads on my 762-800 inch pro mod drag car engines. All i ran was jesel or alan johnson on his heads. Why is nobody just putting jesel rockers on these motors when they do uppers???

How high does the reflash raise the peak rpm & limiter rpm? My boat is propped now to hit the limiter on perfect days (5,400).

You can get it where ever you want. I'll get them set to 6000 rpm, but prop them for 5700 or so with 91/93 octane. With 89 octane, I have it set at 5800 and prop for 5600. You don't really want them to hit the limiter under normal circumstances. It's there for safety measures.

I've been told to run my '07 vintage 525 near the 5,400 limiter and that is what I do. (when running flat out for short periods that is) When running light and on cool days I can get the rev warning beeper at about 85 mph. This engine does have the cometic head gaskets and supposedly new style headers.

If your engine is a 2007, it will have Cometic head gaskets, ARP head bolts, and the newer style headers. The one thing that you want to check is the rocker arms. Look in the center of them to see if the poly-lock is rubbing the body of the rocker arm. That will indicate worn out bearings in the trunnion.

Where on the water is your new marina located?

Thanks. That will be convenient. We always go to Shorty Pants.
