I don't care how much power a blower motor makes, it's not a turbine. The turbines make about 2,200 ft lbs of torque and cannot be throttled. So, think of a big block making that much torque, and when it comes out of the water every time it wings the motors with the throttles pinned to the dash. That is the beating drives take on a turbine boat.

I know but I was just letting you know because most people don't understand that the turbines throttle response isn't the same as a big block.

Going from memory here. Mercury Racing rates the M8 35% stronger. A plus for durability. I believe it is shorter by about 2 inches. If so, can the correct propshaft placement be achieved with a spacer or is it more involved? Fiberglass work, rerigging existing power etc?

You can run a spacer, I've seen it done an a 6 to 8 conversion before.
