I know guys that throw so much more power to their 6s then what a 1350 makes... And more than even a 1650. And I crew for them and we never have drive issues. Mainly cause they are maintained by Vern at West Coast Drives in Lake Havasu... Just call and talk to him and what he says will take care of all your questions, he's the best in the biz an just specializes in surface drives. 310-995-1670.... 928-302-1904

I don't care how much power a blower motor makes, it's not a turbine. The turbines make about 2,200 ft lbs of torque and cannot be throttled. So, think of a big block making that much torque, and when it comes out of the water every time it wings the motors with the throttles pinned to the dash. That is the beating drives take on a turbine boat.

Going from memory here. Mercury Racing rates the M8 35% stronger. A plus for durability. I believe it is shorter by about 2 inches. If so, can the correct propshaft placement be achieved with a spacer or is it more involved? Fiberglass work, rerigging existing power etc?
