Default Exhaust Tip Question

I have read so many threads on this and the more I read the more conflicted I get. I have a 2000 Baja 232 Islander with a 454 Mpi and it came with non selectable quick and quiet and I put choice diverters on it. The boat has Corsa muffler tips and I modified them to make it louder but was not real succesful, it is now quiet and silent. My question is can I completely gut them so they are straight through with just a flapper on the end like it is now?

yep, you would probably be better off just selling them and installing some straight tips though.

Is there enough back pressure without any baffles in the tips?
