You should consider buying a new section of armored cable to make that job complete and weather resistant. That electrical tape is not going to do the job for long.

Safety first

If the wire is too short to reach the new motor, just glue a weather tight box to the end of the pvc and then tie-in a new armored cable to the motor.

Home depot has the cable pre-wired complete with both fittings
