I don't know anyone involved and have no idea what really happened but, if it went down like the OP stated, I know the feeling cause I went through something similar a few years back. It's a chity situation to be in when the builder makes you feel uncomfortable. I was told he was the best around and won't be disappointed. It was the worse experience ever, and to make matters worse, I recently tore down my motors only to find cheap crap parts when they originally had top quality parts. Live and learn I guess.

Damn, you guys are being hard on the OP. He was pretty clear up front about not wanting to name or call out the builder. Was just looking for opinions on what to do about the situation. I really don't think it was a big enough deal to bag on either one of them. It's pretty obvious based on other posts that this builder(and he is not the only one by a long shot) has some trouble moving things through the shop in the timeframe the customer wants. It's no secret in our little world this happens a lot. You can see the difference in perspective between builders and boaters that's for sure lol. From a customers point of view, no matter how good the finished product, if you keep getting the "next week, next week" treatment on a significant investment it can be nerve racking. Especially for us northerners who only get a couple months of of boating a year. A lost season is a lot of lost investment. Not bashing Brian or Eddie, have spoken to both about work and both were very helpful and considerate.

Thread was a waste....OP had all the answers already, didn't want opinions because if he did he wouldn't have countered on them by saying he could have done it, built 50 engines, rewards bad behavior, etc.

Seems like someone just needed a hug.

Glad he got his stuff.

First off I was under the impression these were the engines out of his boat...NOT, they were dusty old used up short blocks

Brian please understand that I am not calling anyone out, but I do have a couple of questions:

If the short blocks where or where not out of his boat- how does that affect the amount of time needed to disassemble and assess?

When the blocks where accepted was there a time frame discussed?

Saber28 stated he called at one point and told the "next week". Do you confirm or deny this?

I am not the BUILDER, I know the builder and the OP is way off base with all his accusations. He has read all of this and still CRICKETS.

Back to the man cave.
