I learned a ton from this board over the years. Also learned a bunch about what NOT to do! I've made friends and had some great times thanks to OSO.
I don't come here as often as I used to. The tone definitely has changed but I think unfortunately so has the hobby and our lives in general. Leaving politics out of it, I think a lot of member's situations have changed as well. I don't even own a boat right now (hope to change that soon) so I don't post boating pictures anymore. I think a lot of members don't boat as much if at all anymore and that has a big effect. I know it is winter in most of the country but I think every member with a boat should have to post photos every time they take their boats out! I will as soon as I get into another boat. That should liven things up a bit. |

Good stuff. My number one reason originally to frequent oso years ago, was to learn so much, and I did. I got so tired of hearing the wrong way to do things at the local marina bars, from guys who just never got it. The knowledge shared on here amongst other offshore boaters was fingertips away. It still is to a point, just with more arguing and opinions.
As much as I bitcch and moan, i'd be sick if oso closed down. I would probably have much more free time, but I cant talk to my old lady about camshafts, apache videos, and what nice titts some of the other oso members wives have. :coolcowboy: |

I know why there is so much negativity here in the winter, it`s cause you guys don`t live in Florida the greatest state in the Union, you could be boating right now! Let me post a few pics of me boating, did I mention you can go boating tomorrow if you lived in Florida, here`s some more pics of my boat in the water In Florida , where its warm while the rest of the states are Antartica.
Wanna see me working on my pool pump in Florida where its warm this time of year, I`ll post our 5 day forecast just to show you guys its warm here in Florida, You know why you`re so negative? Cause I`m fixing my pool pump and going boating later and you`re all mad cause your FU^%$#ing pool is FROZEN and your pool pump EXPLODED!!! Not me I live in Florida where its warm and after I fix this pump.. it I`m going boating!! Did I mention I~m going boating?? I`ll post a pic incase you didn`t understand that I went boating. Not you thou, your lake is a Frozen ANTARTICA $hithole! If all of OSO just lived in Florida, (where its warm ) there would be peace and happiness in the world and no negativity!! |

Been a member here for a very long time, also belong to many other special interest forums and none have the 'tone' and negative vibe that OSO, unfortunately has deleloped. -Been mentioned before but few, deep in the industry that used to frequent the site stay clear of the site. What do we expect, you get a bunch of brand loyal alpha males with an abundance of testosterone together who are addicted to adreneline and speed, then remove their fix because of winter then add they have never met face to face and they talk smack behind a keyboard.
Not too surprising. Then these keyboard commandos think they know more than the members who really do walk the walk instead of talk smack. What could happen? |
