I am closeto finishing my1999 26ZX project and have yet to put the boat in the water or ever drive this boat. I have a B1 drive 1.5ratio with a Bravo 26P and around 550HP and I am interested in how this works out for you. I built my engine with aluminum heads, intake, ex manifolds and saved about 200lbs of weight right off the back of the boat as compared to a stock 502. I am wondering how much of a difference, if at all, the reduction of weight will have on how the prop sits in the water? Once I get a feel for how the boat handles I will be looking at a shorty to see if it would be a benefit for me........ I would think that the faster you go the more benefit you will see?

i cant answer that question,,i have a x18 and its a handful...but thats gue to no hydraulic steering...i see the members on donzi.org ans net that are in the 80's and 90 mph range that have no issues at that speed..i think it has to do with the ste[ed hull and the boat only haveing a singel engine.once the boat hits mid 80[s you have to watch it going over waves...
