Awesome videos! Can't wait until summer! Anybody by a drone yet? Would be pretty cool to get some aerial photos of the boats maybe when all raffed up?

I can tell you it`s even worse when the Go Pro is underwater, as in like 2' . I wanted to get some footage of the props in the water/gettting on plane and it would not work.
So if the wifi is so short what the point? I'm not very gizmo oriented so forgive my ignorance. How about using a pre-paid smart phone velcroed someplace close to the camera on the boat connected to an Iphone on shore.

The point is to be able to start stop turn on and off from a phone or remote so if it up on the bow or in the back u don't need to jump around to start or stop recording u can do it from your phone. U can also up load from the camera to your phone and post it at any time.

I've tried numerous places, some with better luck with others. I've also lost a go-pro to the bottom of the lake lol. I'd suggest using a tether when getting creative.
I've ran it under water for drive, and prop shots with varying levels of success.

That's a good one. Really dig some others on here, too.

I personally feel that some of the best vids evoke that feeling of being along for the experience, and it helps to mix it up a bit with different views, locations, etc. Getting people into the shot for the human factor is good, too.
This being said, I don't always accomplish that goal, and sometimes I just throw a video together as background video for a party, etc.

Here's a dedication to my little boat. Not perfect, but I dig it.

I just bought a gopro black, not sure what the difference is but it sounded good lol. Has a remote so that's cool. Now, how in the hell do you use this thing?

I like the view from the GoPro on a stick.. it gives a nice view of the whole boat.
