I've got four season's on mine (although only 50 hours), but have had zero problems since installation. Ilmor has even sent me upgrades and retrofit to deal with issues that I did not have.

As far as the Formula installations go, almost every 382 built in the last three years has been powered by 725/Indys. They have it down pat. Because the transmission is packaged so neatly into the transom, the overall length of the plug-in version of the package is not too much longer than a Bravo installation.

Formula has also built four or five 400SuperSport cruisers with these engines and drives. That's a real test (18,000 pound boat).

So now I am a bit confused, does the engine need to be moved or can they be left in place? Could this drive be retrofitted to a boat with big power on bravo drives? And if so would Ilmor sell the drive/transom/trans as a package apart from the engine for this type of project?

Again just dreaming/curiosity on my part.

What is the used market like price wise? Could you pick up a pair of Ilmors with high hours for under $30K?? I understand its a better engine but in terms of resale to the average person, they cant be worth that much more than 525's correct?

I don't know of any nor have I ever seen any high hour ILMORs for sale. I know of some that were rebuilt in the 300hr range but they obviously weren't for sale.
ILMORS appear in the OSO classifieds from time to time but they don't last long. ILMOR themselves often have low hr used & or rebuilds from time to time so you just have to inquire.
I've never seen any Indy drives for sale.
