Engine quit, then what a great feeling

I've learned (the hard way) to watch for two simple tests on my Merc...
If the key is on, but there is no beeping (from the warning buzzer), then the "kill switch" is off.
If the key is on, the buzzer is sounding, but it will not crank, then it is "in gear".
If you know these two "secrets", you can look like a gear-head out on the water when you are helping other boaters!

Must have been a big relief when that happened....
I was at a poker run last year and there was a guy who stopped to check something. He didn't realize it but he had stopped in front of a big tanker ship and needed to get out of the way fast. His kill-switch lanyard got pulled but in his panic to get the boat started he didn't realize it. His wife actually jumped out of his boat and started swimming to shore beause she was afraid that they were going to get run over. He figured it out and got his boat started just fine, but I don't think he was too happy with his wife for ditching him

Thanks for the offer,
But it's ready to pull , I have to get ahold of Lenny today.
I think I found the cam I'm going to use. pretty high tech for a hydraulic roller, almost sounds to good to be true but I know some people that use his stuff and swear by it.
