It is Lake Guntersville... for Guntersville, AL

It is part of the TN River chain and it is beautiful but you won't see many performance boats down there. There are a few but mainly fishing and cruising with a few houseboats mixed in but again it is beautiful. Just watch your GPS as there are some shallow areas that are 200 yards from any land you can see but big flats out of the channels that are stump lined from when it was impounded back in the 50's. Not a huge deal just have a GPS with bottom contours and you will be fine as it is a very big lake. (by southern standards) You should check out the Goose Pond area as that is a nice marina with a lot of things to do and there is a resort right there with a nice golf course and each cabin has a pier to park the boat and the ramp is really big and plenty of parking.

I haven't boated there since the 80's top dog back then was a Fountain 10 Meter lots of HydroStream and stuff like that it is very beautiful though!!!!!! And yes as previously mentioned it's Guntersville not Gintersville also when pronounced in the south the T is silent for the most part!!!! Just saying!!!

I boat 99 % of the time just below the Guntersville dam. We lock through and come up for events, dinner, what ever quite often.

The cove just above the dam is a favorite spot to stay the night on the hook, and you can see the bats come out right there close too. Very cool to see,
