That is EXACTLY how you should drive a boat,,,,, and my shop is just south of Chicago off I-55 LOL :evilb:

Where, what RPM, does a big block make most of it's torque? I'm not saying that it's a good idea to do what this guy did, lord knows I'm guilty of a few alcohol induced hole-shots. I'm just saying I never broke a drive WFO. I broke them bastards under 3500 rpm. I was probably a ****ty stick man, but how do you break a bravo behind stock black? Pretty f'ing hard to do.

I think y'all are being a little hard on the guy. The worst he did was nail it out of the hole which I've done, granite not with a big block but a built small block with an alpha. Not saying what he did is in best interest of the drives but we didn't see how he accelerated. Even a slow roll up and then camera shows pinned might be ok for his set up. He did not move the sticks back and forth like a light switch. He was planed off and running and came back to half throttle.

Chill out wasn't your boat he was driving!!

Ultimately his boat, his money. Who gives a ****, hahah. Not the way to do it but it isn't mine. Bet you wont rip it in reverse, then slam them sticks to the dash :drink: lol

I'll bet ya the 400-425ft lbs he just put on the drives, is peanuts compared to the torque the drive see's when the boat is airborne and lands back in the water at 80+mph. Or the guy who throttles his boat trying to be Bob Saccenti, and his drives never leave the water, but he insists on pulling the throttles back to idle when his bow rises a little off a bass boat wake, then slams it to wot again.

I would be more concerned that he was running wide ass open without a hand on the throttles. I NEVER take my hand off of the throttle, especially after I just tried shoving into the cabin.

You can only do that if you have a "Fouintain"

I try to never be ''wide ass open''. Nothing good ever comes out of that. :pacifier:

Not me. I'd lose a race to a forklift on ice towing a snowplow getting my boat up on plane.
