For affordable LS marine power I would call mast motorsports. They had a motor they were going to build for the marine market but i think due to low interest they never sold any. It was 6.8 liters and AL block. 600hp and 600lbs I'm sure they would build a set for someone.

I like Ilmor technology, but the prices for marine engines are still high. I know I'm beating that poor horse but the Ford 5.0-based engine with Ti-VCT is very impressive for the money. The heads are amazing, the cam timing opens up all kinds of options that will give an NA a flat torque curve. No GM based engine at 5 liter makes this kind of power. Someday, hopefully, I find a project boat and buy one of these to prove the combo.

All aluminum, NA 500hp + at only 14k

Coyote, All aluminum, supercharger ready, 8K

Ever hear of dry exhaust and closed cooling? Not trying to be smart a*s but let's innovate a little.

My guys at Champion put together a hell of an engine and have all the CNC programs for the LSx block. Have two with them now actually.

My vote the "Bravo XRT" with 5 inch gears. God forbid you make it bolt to a standard helmet and gimble - oh my! Oh lordy help us!

So close yet so far away!
At Miami they told me the new XR has different gears, stronger! Does anybody know if this is true or they blowing smoke?

The 540 is nothing more than a 520 with a bling pkg (that costs a lot) headers over manifolds, ecu work, different stickers and if I remember right valve covers. Our boat at Miami had 520's in it. What no one has mentioned is the fact that the 520 has a 2 yr warranty, the 540 (with the headers) only carries a 1 yr.
