Oh just to be clear, as for boating down here I don't have the time anymore, becuase of the low Florida wages all I have time to do is work.

So for me I just like reading about everyone else's fun, if I ever get our boat back togather it will be on the market right after the sea trial,,,,,,,,,,,, in St Johns river so I can say its a fresh water boat. Lol

Just gonna get rid of it like that? C'mon Phil. What do you still have to do to get it back together?

The long warranty/lifespan/fuel economy of OB's are also huge pluses.....The insurance can be more expensive in certain areas (triple/quad OB's in S. Florida routinely disappear).

Just because a CC can fit 10 people doesn't mean it is smart to take 10 people on a poker run.

Say we want to go out with 4 couples (including us). The 4 guys go out and run hard/poker run/whatever while girls are getting massages/gossiping/getting ready and then we pick them up and the 8 of us go boating together. With a CC I can do that all with the same boat, with a sport boat I couldn't. With a CC I have room for 4 people to safely run hard and then 8+ people to relax comfortably. I'm not selling any one on a CC but that is one of the many reasons a CC worked for "me" that I hadn't read yet.

One other thing not mentioned is the fact that having a sport boat often is about going fast, especially faster than most others. If you are that guy and don't have cubic dollars you will not be anywhere near the head of the pack. So once you lose that, you are now looking for more utility, so a center console looks real good.

There are even some center console specific poker runs now....

Trouble is they're beginning to look like Escalades, all blinged up.

I talked to a NT CC owner this summer in the Bahamas and this was his exact statement! He had 3-4 I/O go fasts, the latest being a 43V 700's and he didn't really need to go 100+ and found 60-70 is great so a new quad engine 39 NT with plenty of shade from the T-Top was perfect solution!
