He might still, hasnt totally made up his mind. That's a lot of money to de-rig then purchase everything new and have MTI re-rig, he knows he can offset some of the price by selling what he has but thought he would try selling the boat first. The boat rides and runs awesome, I have been it several times. I believe top speed right now with 1075's is 152, I have a pic of it somewhere. The wife and I have been it with him at 125 and it is a rock solid awesome boat. The owner rode in that silver and green 38 at last years Miami boat show poker run and loved it, I believe they are the same hull just different bustle.

152 with 1075s? Slow- should be 160 easy!

Ortho- please don't admit that- you should punish him in the rough- as a 36 Mti is really only like a 32-34 foot boat.

I had passengers and always run safe. The guy who owns the 36 has no fear.

If you put an experienced driver in my boat (or someone with bigger balls and smaller brains) of course it would eat the 36 alive in the rough. Mine runs 140s the way it sets but will run 160 turned up.

That being said, I was looking hard at 38 MTI with 700s but for the same money I could buy SummerOs 2012 40 Skater with 1100s and a tilt trailer. So, I've decided to keep my boat for now. The 40 Mystic intrigues me as does a certain used 388. It's just stupid for me to buy a boat that costs more than the lake house and dock where it sits :). Like buying a new corvette when you live in a trailer park.

You've got a beautiful boat BAM, why swap it out, seems like a warm weather crib would be the next thing on my wish list.

I think this boat was the one that was introduced in Havasu in 2008 with 1200's it's a quick. I remember the top speed being much higher.
Just a guess but I think 1350's in a 36 MTI with a owner that wants to reach top speed could be in the 190's. Basing this on a 43 1350's that I know of that runs in the upper 170's
I'm not saying it will do it in a shootout but I think it could run that fast.

Oh you didn't state that part. Lol... About how you guys already ran and the situation... What used 388 might you be talking about? :)

Orthobam 02-23-2014 10:37 AM
