Sad New!!! Gunsmoke's Dad Died
A sad day today. GunSmoke's (Don), father drowned while on a fishing trip in Canada. Some of you remember Don from the OSO get togethers at Hooters and D & Bs. Don and his dad went fishing every year up in Canada. One or two days ago he and his dad were fishing in a remote area when his dad fell off the boat and went under. Don jumped in but couldn't locate his dad. After a while his dad was located and since the boat drifted away, Don swam his dad to shore. From what I understand Don immediately started CPR but was unsuccessful in reviving his dad. I've been friends with Don for many years, we even work together at the same police deparment, so I know Don did everything humanly possible to rescue his dad. I see how Don is at work helping strangers so I could only imagine what he did for his own dad. Don is a great guy, a great friend and a boating brother. My deepest sympathies go out to Don and his family.
