It's going to be pushed by a 22' Avanti with a single big block... Is this enough boat or do I need to find a 28? will the single work or do I really have to get twins??

Prolly gonna need triple engines but a single axle trailer and definitely surge brakes on 1 wheel.

A couple of those high $$$ air bags from your avatar wouldn't hurt either!

My mom has 208k on hers. Looking to sell it. Never had the plugs changed for fear of the threads coming out with it. Only problem shes had was 1 starter, 3 alternators, and normal brake wear and tear. Knock on wood its been good to her. Kept the oil changed and fluid in the trans fresh.

Oh hers had a pcv elbow or some sorta crank case breather dry rot from the oil, caused it to not run. Fixed it and good as new.
Manifold studs break because of the difference in expansion. Hers tick till it gets warm and then its quiet.

I had a 2004 F250 Lariat with the 5.4 V8 and 4.10 gears. It was awful. Totally gutless. I towed my Four Winns Liberator 241 from Chicago to LOTO, about a 900 mile round trip. Hated every minute of it, especially when i got in the Hills down by loto. I remember the tach holding near redline just trying to maintain 55mph going up those inclines. Engine did nothing but make noise. As far as MPG, I got about 8 towing on that trip. ( I get that now with a 454 dually but towing a 38ft boat, not a 25ft boat).

I'll take a big older pushrod V8 anyday for towing over those mod motors. I think a 96-00 Suburban 2500 454 Vortec combo would be a much nicer tow rig than the Expedition 5.4 .

just picked up an '02 EB 5.4 and w/d with 132k for $5k. pulls well and while gas mileage is not great (avg 12-13) it does everything I want it to and is a comfortable ride. other than some of the issues mentioned they have a blend door problem that causes the heat to not blow as hot as it should at times.

The spark plug issue is on the three valve engines.

I had a 98 Lincoln Navigator. I towed my Super Hawaii home from St Louis with it. Towed great. The airbag system helped level the truck out. The only issue we had was an oil leak at the back of the head.

It doesn't help having 2 K worth of beer and booze.

mine had 3:73's, maybe better gears for the freeway???? Agreed, on bad gas milage. got 8 towing.

Do you know what that scaled in at? The Expedition scaled in at 5150 lbs. Just curious, my 2010 crew cab F150 scales 6180.
