Non stepped boat accident at Loto
#21
We go down to the lake several times a year. If it were scary we wouldn't go back.
Don't be afraid
It's only as bad as you make it. Most accidents involve drinking, not paying attention, and exceeding your cababilities. Take a day to get accustomed to the water and you'll do fine.

To be perfectly honest, LOTO is kind of like "Boating for dummies". There are no shoals to run aground on, no wing dams or channel markers, no large vessels/barges, no locks, no big waves, etc. So we get A LOT of novices.
But to set you mind at ease, look at how many of the reports are PWC accidents. And most are "Darwin related incidents" that only affect the people drictly involved.
My only advice would be to be very careful and aware of all the boats around you at night. You might have to avoid some of the more careless boaters.
