Default Automatic fire ext. for engine compartment

I have of course an hatch cover, and wanted to know what auto fire extinguisher you have.
I have heard there is a unit that does not make a total mess. But putting out a fire is first priority. Thank you!

Automatic extinguisher should be Halon gas, not powder. No residue.

Halon is no longer avaliable, it depletes the Ozone. Dupont makes FE-36, and FE-241.

I am looking at having mine retested/approve or replaced.

Fireboy has units that use the dupont fe-200. They are not cheap but it is money well spent....Esp when your on fire
