Mine is wired so the main memory wire gets 12v any time the battery switch is on. But, the turn on lead, (switched power), is run off my ''CABIN POWER" switch at the helm. What I like about it, is that sometimes I'll have the stereo going, and I'll need to shut it off for a minute or two. Like if someone is yelling to you, the cops roll up, etc. Its nice having that switch that I can flip, that shuts everything down in a second. No looking for the remote, or going into the cabin to turn the volume down. When I'm ready to get my party back on, I just flip the switch back on. My head unit has a soft start mode, so it will come on at low volume, but pick right back up to the volume level it was at, along with the track it was playing.

Ah, my old boat was like that. My wife thought that switch was for her to 1. ask a question 2. get a drink 3. hear what someone was saying to someone else on another boat 4. tell someone they have a cute dog 5. make small talk with unattractive annoying people

I like my stereo to be hard to turn off, remote is hidden :D

4bus wins, no switch for me. Ill just have to be more diligent with turning stuff off.

I have no stereo, the wiring is very simple. I have 0/0/0 wires going to everything.

I have mine wired to a switch. Gotta agree with 4bus, its simple, hit switch, radio and amps turn on and music plays. Boom

Cause it is complicated. That's why we are on page 3 of how to hook up a stereo wire. :)

I'm just glad no one ask about complicated stuff like motor oil. Can you imagine how long that would go on for?? :D

Wasn't that "Merle Haggard" and "CW McCall"?
