Default Is your stereo wired through your key/

How are your stereos wired? Currently mine is on as long as the battery switch is on and I don't like that, but I'm not sure what to do about it.

Thinking about adding a switch on the dash for the radio, what are yall's thoughts?

That's what I was planning to use, a switched breaker.

Mine is wired live, fused. Hitting the off button is off but "stand by" holding the off button turns the radio all the way off.

Switch is too complicated if someone trips it (they always do) you have to turn it back on, set the volume, and sometimes restart the playlist

4bus, I agree, fat-fingered bastages.

I'm thinking set it up so that the radio is on when the key on, or when the switch is flipped.

Im setting my rigging up so that when the battery switch is on, the fuse box is energized. The stereo will be wired to the fusebox.

Have its own switch but dont use the ignition key or you will rack up hours without running...

Mine goes full on as soon as the battery is switched on. I have to hurry to shut it off once the switch is on. No likey. I'm going to wire it so the always hot(memory) is fused to battery and the radio/cd is wired through the battery breaker radio switch. Once the main is on, it lights the breakers on the main panel.
